Desirée & Javier chose The Foundry in Queens, NY for their December winter wedding because they loved the old foundry industrial vibes. The Foundry has a greenhouse in the center of their venue which is super stunning, as well as a courtyard with cobblestones, brick walls, creeping ivy, and lots of space. I fell in love with the venue as soon as I stepped foot in it.

The two are from Puerto Rico and were best friends for years while secretly having crushes on one another. A fun fact, they both have the same last name but aren’t related. No need for either of them to change their last names after the wedding!

Desirée & Javier are a super talented couple. Desirée is an artist and designer who worked for many years in textile and fashion, makes custom handmade artisan soaps, and is a talented baker. Javier is an artist, tech guru and web developer for Spotify. Absolutely one of the coolest couples I’ve ever met, far too cool for me 100%.

Being artists and designers, their wedding was stunning and had such personal touches throughout the whole day. Desirée worked with the baker to collaborate on their cake and built a bond and friendship together through the process. Desirée made all of the delicate gorgeous sugar flowers on her cake as well as handmade soaps for the guests’ favors. Each guest received two soaps, each based off of Desirée & Javier’s favorite cocktails.

The Foundry was the perfect venue for them and their wedding coordinator Lindsay from Simply Sunshine Events transformed the whole day into their perfect vision. Lindsay was amazing, I highly recommend her to any new couples as well as every other vendor at this wedding. It was the perfect day, couple, and vendor team.
