Chelsea and Tim got married at The Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia. A church turned art studio. Talk about rad af for a wedding venue.
Coming from Brooklyn, they wanted an urban wedding without the New York price tag. They knew Philadelphia would offer them not only stunning options but a lower price tag. Chelsea and Tim loved Fleisher Art Memorial’s work within the local art community, as well, as the beautiful architecture of the previous church.
They had a Quaker ceremony and self-united under the previous church’s religious iconography as the guests sat around them in the original pews with candles flickering in the dim lighting. Also, they opted for no wedding party and walked down the ceremony aisle hand in hand together. I love when couples decide to make their own rules for their wedding day.
Then, cocktail hour took place in the venue’s gallery with tables and chairs placed amongst some art pieces. Afterwards, their reception took place back in the previous church’s nave under string lights with long farm tables decorated with candles and loose cut greenery in mismatched glass vases.
A surprise in the night was when the couples’ two friends stood up to give a speech and played a video from Gilbert Gottfried speaking to the couple for a wedding gift. Be sure to scroll down to see their reaction. Ten out of ten recommend.
